The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), the world’s largest military airshow, is moving to MOD Boscombe Down, just outside Salisbury in Wiltshire. The first show at its new home runs from 16 to 18 July 2027, and it usually draws well over 100,000 visitors.

For more than four decades RIAT was held at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. From 2027 Salisbury becomes the nearest city, and Salisbury railway station the obvious place to arrive by train.

Where is Boscombe Down?

Boscombe Down is near Amesbury, about 8 miles north of Salisbury. It is not the Boscombe in Bournemouth. The airfield is a working MOD and test site, so on show days follow the organisers’ signs and instructions for parking and drop off.
